17 officers were detained in an operation early on Wednesday morning in 7 provinces in ongoing illegal wiretapping investigation following the initial operation of 22 July. The operation was launched upon an instruction from Istanbul Public Prosecutors Office. The suspects, who are accused of illegal wiretapping, privacy breaching, and documents forgery, are expected to be taken to Istanbul Security Directorate for questioning following a health check. Over 50 officers were detained and released in previous multiple operation waves in various provinces during the summer and early autumn.
